Darksiders, Red Faction and more go to under the hammer

Wednesday, 27th February 2013 01:17 GMT By Brenna Hillier

THQ is to auction off its remaining unsold properties.

Assets yet to be snapped up in last months’ major auction will be offered in a new court-approved sales process to kick off on April 15, the deadline for bids.

THQ is offering six distinct packages. Darksiders, Red Faction, Homeworld and MX will be sold as individual properties. Internally-produced properties will be sold in one bundle, while licensed titles will be offered in another. The purchaser will be liable for costs associated with licensed costs.

A full list of what’s in each package is available below, but both bundles include some cracking properties like de Blob, Supreme Commander, Titan Quest, Drawn to Life, Lock’s Quest, Costume Quest, Worms and Stacking. Whoever picks up these bundles will take over all costs and revenues associated with back-catalogue sales, as well as, in some cases, have the right to develop the property further.

THQ said it has already received more than 100 expressions of interest for various properties and is anticipating “a vigorous sale”.

Most of THQ’s properties and in-development titles were purchased last month, with the notable exception of Vigil Studios and its Darksiders property. Many former Vigil staffers joined a new Crytek team, but Crytek isn’t interested in the action series.

Ctrl+F Homeworld returns multiple results, how about that. Do you mean Homefront? Crytek bought it in January.

There are some games I would love to see live again on this page.
Destroy all Humans, Homeworld, Surpreme Commander, Titan Quest, etc,

Red Faction would be a great title for a reboot, bring it back to the FPS it once was.

I’d love a next gen Destroy all Humans and Titan Quest especially :)

I hope someone saves Darksiders from extinction, preferably Platinum Games…!

HOMEWORLD! Holy shitfuck. So it’s not at Sega yet, and GOG still have a chance to buy it.

Please, please, please make that happen. I will become religious. I will bow down to the flying spaghetti monster.

I started to feel really sorry for Vigil after playing Darksiders 2. It was twice the game that the original ever was.

Also Full Spectrum Warrior. I know it’s simple as hell, but that just means it would make one hell of an iOS game these days.

As far as gaming goes, I’d consider it a tragedy if Darksiders were to get filed away somewhere to gather dust, with an IP-sitter. :( @7: I’m with you on your thoughts about DAH and TQ! I can almost imagine if 2K bought DAH, and then that it wouldn’t be at all a bad meld with XCOM (2k Marin’s former(?) FPS)
