Crimes and Punishments - Sherlock Holmes' next adventure being built using Unreal Engine 3

Focus Home Interactive has announced a new Sherlock Holmes game, Crimes and Punishments.

According to the press release, the game "will build upon the success" of The Testament of Sherlock Holmes with changes to both the graphic and gameplay.

Frogwares Studio isn't using its homemade graphics engine to built the game, instead it the team will use Epic’s Unreal Engine 3.

The studio promises more realistic environments with dynamic lighting and shadows, smoother movement and animation transitions, and more.

In Crimes and Punishments, players will step into Holmes' shoes through eight cases spanning murders, disappearances, and thefts all written in the "pure tradition" of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s novels. Each case will present moral choices which will have an influence in the game and affect your character’s reputation along with the possibility of unexpected, consequences.

A release date was not provided, but it is in development for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Screenshots are below, and in them, you will notice Holmes has a more modern, dapper look to him.
