Crysis: Crytek discussing 'new space' for future instalments

Crysis 4 chatter continues, this time courtesy of Crysis 3 producer Michael Elliot Read, who has said that developer Crytek is currently discussing where to take the franchise next. His words follow an interview that broke last week in which Read also discussed the series' future. It seems he's more than happy to discuss the studio's plans.

Speaking with Digitally Downloaded, Read was asked for his thoughts on what will come next in the Crysis series.

"I think over the last five years we have built up a strong and identifiable franchise," he replied, "especially in the FPS area. We are now talking about what we can do in taking the Crysis franchise into a new space and do something different outside of the story we have been telling with this trilogy."

It's no secret that Crytek is eye-balling a future for Crysis, and that Read himself has discussed the potential future of the series in previous interviews.

Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has also waxed lyrical on the game, stating that it may not be a FPS. Imagine that.
