Nintendo 3DS lifetime sales in Japan surpass 10 million units

Enterbrain has announced via its latest issue of Famitsu, that Nintendo 3DS sold 10,068,192 units in Japan as of January 6, 2013. The handheld has been available in the region for 98 weeks, and is the top-seller on the Media Create and Enterbrain hardware charts every week. I’m playing on my 3DS more than anything else at the moment. There are some real gems on the eshop..

It is close to overcome PSP sales in Japan, it is more likely to do so after the new Pokémon.

@1: same here. i love that thing. pricing for 3ds retail games is good too imo. it’s mostly 35 euros brandnew on amazon…and all those great ds games. well deserved. great machine, awesome software.

Eh? PSP is 20 million approx in japan.It will do so in about 2 years at current pace.

So in 3 years it sold 10 million in japan. not bad but not as extravagant as the ds life. I wonder if this will quadruple after they finally discontinue the ds. its been piggy backing their success so far
