StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm beta opened to pre-order customers
StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm beta play started as a closed affair, but now pre-purchase customers are being invited into the fold. Find out if you’re eligible after the cut.
PCGamesN reports that anyone who has pre-purchased the expansion before December 18th is now eligible for beta play. Anyone who pre-purchases the game from now on will be considered for beta play, but will be added in waves starting next year.
The beta client is available online now, ahead of the expansion’s March 12th release.

You have been able to prepurchase it and get beta access since a week after preorders where available…

@1 Yes, correct, but now anyone post Dec 18th can also get involved, and will be added in waves. That wasn’t always the case as I and other sources understand it…

I just read on the official SC2 site, i think this is related to people who prepurchased it digitally through Blizzard. If you preordered through amazon, gamestop etc you got a key instantly

Probably, although people can just read the comments if they are confused. It isn’t like it is a long way down to the comments section
