Mass Effect Trilogy hits PlayStation 3 on December 4

BioWare has announced that the PlayStation 3 edition of the Mass Effect Trilogy, which includes the first PS3-compatible version of the original entry in the series, will launch on December 4 in North America, and on December 7 in Europe.

Back in September, it was announced that the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the Trilogy would arrive on November 6.

The three games will be available for purchase either in stores or on the PlayStation Network, while the original Mass Effect can be purchased as a standalone title on the PSN too.

As far as DLC goes, Bioware has only stated that the PS3 edition of Mass Effect will have the Bring Down the Sky content integrated into the game. The Pinnacle Station add-on doesn't look to be included. The other two Mass Effect titles, though, will have all the DLC included in their original releases.

Developer Edge of Reality, not BioWare, is handling development of the PS3 port of Mass Effect. And while that game was not originally made for the console, BioWare now says that the new version "runs pretty damn well."
