NBA Live 13 – first trailer comes with news of a delay

NBA Live 13 has been given its first trailer, and alongside the visual look at the basketball title comes the news that it’s release has been delayed.

EA said in a blog update that while an early October release had been originally planned, the game will instead be released “at a later date.”

“We’ve been working hard on the game… [and] will share more information in the future,” reads the post.

The game was noticeably absent from E3 2012 this year, and EA Sports explained it away has the title “deserved its own time” and promised to show it at a later date.

In early August, EA Tiburon said it had hoped to provide hands-on time with the game this summer, and an XBL Rewards listing suggested it would be released in digital instead of physical form.

We’ll just have to wait for more information on the title when EA feels ready.

There hasn’t been an NBA Live since 2009 and yet another delay. With last year’s delays and ultimate cancellation of NBA Elite, the implications here are that history might be repeating itself. Doesn’t bode well for the game.
