3DS XL: hoo-hah over week-one sales ends in pulled story

After a little tooing-and-froing over comparisons between 3DS XL and 3DS sales figures, the situation has rested with a few wires uncrossed.

Speaking with MCV, a ChartTrack spokesperson quashed early sales reports, speaking directly about figures reported by GI.biz yesterday.

“The comparison with 3DS is complete rubbish and totally factually incorrect,” the spokesperson explained, “3DS week one was around 10 times the sell through of 3DS XL so there's no way 3DS XL could have outsold 3DS by 2:1.”

[UPDATE] MCV has withdrawn its article after the author of the GI.biz piece pointed out that he was comparing last week's 3DS XL sales to the original 3DS figures. Check out the author's rebuttal tweet here.
