GTA 5 will not be shown at gamescom, say organizers

Organizers of gamescom have told CVG the GTA V footage show in its promotion video for the event was added “in error.”

Gamescom project manager Tim Endres explained: “Rockstar Games is not scheduled and has never been scheduled to exhibit at Gamescom 2012,” adding that the offending footage has since been removed from the video.

“We apologize for any confusion this may have caused,” he added.

Earlier this month, a suspect LinkedIn profile claimed Grand Theft Auto V, Table Tennis Tournament 2 and an unknown Valve project would be shown at the show, but the news was quickly shot down by gamescom officials.

gamescom takes place August 15 – 19 in Cologne, Germany.

    Hi Steph.

I just wanted to say that you’re a very nice lady.

#1 of course she is a very nice lady, she is the only one that laughs at my wanna-be attempts of jokes, she has a kind heart.

Now back to the topic, now that i see table tennis, it reminds me how much i want Rockstar would work in the future on sim sports, they have a lot of talent, table tennis prove it.

I’m surprised by this. Cause i really was expecting them to be there. This could mean several could mean that they wanted to keep working on the game and not lose any valuable time. And maybe release it in October? Doubtful…very doubtful.

Or they were not trolling us when they said in their Q&A that it would be awhile until we heard about GTA V again. Although, in that same Q&A they said ‘soon’ .

I hope it won’t turn out to be a October 2013 release, jesus.

Nah it’ll def be before summer next year, they won’t want to release it for cur-gen consoles alongside next-gen ones.

Unless it’s a NG launch title??

GTAV would make more sense being released this OCT.

If they did next year, even May would be a bad idea cuz then June we have E3 with most likely nextgen consoles. This might put people into saving their money mode.

Then cuz its GTA, no doubt they will want to go much bigger with DLC this time so first DLC ready by FALL 2013, which is prob round the time a new console comes out.

Better off releasing OCT 2012, first DLC by Spring, and second, end of Summer. Either that or it releases with a a nextgen version as well.
