Gamescom organisers shoot-down GTA V rumour

A dubious-looking LinkedIn profile that claims Grand Theft Auto V, Table Tennis Tournament 2 and an unknown Valve project will be shown at gamescom has been dismissed by event organisers.

A profile supposedly belonging to a project manager responsible for "the programming at Gamescom" that suggests high-profile titles from major publishers including Rockstar, Activision Blizzard, EA and Valve will be shown at gamescom, has been rubbished by organisers of the event in Cologne.

The profile on the business networking site for a "Gerald Bauser" has zero connections but claims that Mr Bauser is organising the programming for gamescom 2012. A spokesperson for the event stated:

"He is not working for the official organisers of Gamescom (Koelnmesse and BIU)".

The LinkedIn profile also lists that Bauser is responsible for supervising programs for Assassin's Creed 3, Crysis 3 and "Guild Wars 3" for PC and console.

GTA V was spied in a gamescom 2012 trailer, released at the end of June. Take-Two is listed as an exhibitor at the event but Rockstar has made no official announcement and gamescom organisers have neither confirmed nor denied GTA V's appearance at the show.

The only thing that we know for sure is that if it does appear, it will be nothing to do with Mr Gerald Bauser.

Thanks, EG.
