Talking bollocks: Wednesday, July 18 – the finally sunny edition
Chat away about whatever you like. The sun’s come out, so we’re all jolly hockey sticks round here.

Main topics of conversation yesterday were the weather, lunch, Breaking Bad and whether or not VG247′s going bust. We’re not going bust, for the record.
Have fun.

Just Cause 2 is currently £3.49 in a Steam flash sale. The unofficial multiplayer mod looks bonkers fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtOwWoOiggc – http://store.steampowered.com/app/8190/

Still haven’t played that, either. Unrelated, but I’m getting a bunch of 3DS games through at the moment. Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon Conquest, etc. And XL is *so* much better than the original.

Bought Metro 2033 yesterday when it was on sale, I hope it’s good. Need to get round to playing it but Civ V is stopping me from playing it.

I wonder if Nintendo will see a significant spike in sales after the 3DS XL’s release? It really does seem to have captured quite a few peoples imaginations.

@4
I’m about a third of way through Metro 2033, spent far too long trying to tweak my settings rather than playing it, I know Pat loves it though. I do love me some Civ V.

P.S. – Steam Summer Sale, too good.

@8 Civ V is wonderful, I wished they fixed the MP so I could play with more than two friends on it. It’s one of those games that makes hours feel like minutes.

2033′s awesome, yeah. Definitely worth it in a sale. I only paid a few quid for it, I think. There’s loads wrong with it, but it’s very different.
XL’s a bit of a revelation, really. I barely touched the original 3DS because the screen was so small, but it makes so much more sense like this.

How is the XL so much better? I just imagine it being more unwieldy really… or does it cater to us men who have giant man hands instead of delicate spindles they seem to be designed for…

Swedish summer involves rain and 15 degrees most of the time.
Never was a fan of Metro 2033, even though I read the books. The lore is quite interesting though.

The internet speed on my phone is nearly double what I get from BT in my house. *firstworldproblems*

@13 I’m writing up some impressions now. The touch-screen’s still a bit pony, but it seems to be a lot more comfortable for real men. It’s only about an inch shorter than Vita.

Though to be honest, the XL not having a second circle stick on the unit is a blocker for me. I just want to play monster hunter without the claw.

Monster Hunter’ll come to Vita eventually, no doubt.

Its pissing with rain here. The Amazon delivery person left my box of books at the house across the road, got wet.

It better clear up here as I’m meant to be going out for lunch today.
Bombay Burger at the Slug & Lettuce. Onion Bhaji and Madras Sauce on a burger. Best burger ever!

Mehh…bought Dead Rising: Chop till you drop from Jersey and the German customs authorities confiscated the game because its on List B (banned). The first time they controlled something. Fooooooook. Nevermind…next time I will order it from England.
At least I got the first Season of Twilight Zone without problems xD

Has anybody tried Cities XL 2012 yet? I’ve been thinking about getting that. Also, GTA Collection is unbelievably cheap.

Curry burger was a great success. Got drizzled on on the way back to the office but used the weather as an excuse to drop into GAME and try out the 3DS XL. Very tempted to trade my current model in…

Total relief for me today, new tenants pulled out of our flat last week so was staring down the barrel of trying to find horrendous mortgage payments. Shouted at the estate agents who had more viewings and woke to an email saying we have new tenants ready to go at an even larger rent. Hurray…
Also means I can now go on my trip to the W Coast to meet the missus after her work event in SF for a few days hols.
Anyone else got any hols planned?
