Ouya release game survey as Kickstarter nears $4.2 million in funding

As the Ouya console Kickstarter nears $4.2 million in pledges, the developers have released a survey with a list of titles to choose from, which may or may not land on the console.

Due to over 45,000 titles which have already been suggested to the developers – in one day no less – the team complied a list of 20 games and posted the list to a survey. They are as follows:

  • Skyrim (Bethesda)
  • Need for Speed (EA)
  • Battlefield (EA)
  • Terraria (Re-Logic)
  • League of Legends (Riot)
  • Super Meat Boy (Team Meat)
  • FIFA (EA)
  • Final Fantasy (Square)
  • Mass Effect (EA)
  • Call of Duty (Activision)
  • Assassin’s Creed (Ubisoft)
  • Battletoads (Tradewest)
  • Grand Theft Auto (Rockstar)
  • Limbo (Playdead)
  • Minecraft (Mojang)
  • Torchlight (Runic)
  • Fez (Polytron)
  • Timesplitter (Eidos)
  • Bastion (Supergiant)
  • Dungeon Defenders (Trendy)

Note that the list is not confirmed titles for the console, just one released by its developers to gauge interest.

Meanwhile PCGamesN has complied a list of titles already available on Android, which could possibly arrive on the console once it hits the market: Grand Theft Auto III,
Max Payne, Final Fantasy III, Minecraft, and Dungeon Defenders.

So far, 400 developer kits have been sold for Ouya via its Kickstarter, and the pledges keep coming as well with 27 more days to go.

I don’t understand the point of this list. The vast majority will A) never be published on Android and B) could never run on the Ouya’s specs anyway.

Don’t get it.

Love that they shoved Minecraft on there and Notch went onto Twitter to pretty much poo poo that it would ever be on it.

@1 It’s like I said in there, it’s not a list of confirmed titles, just one released by the console’s developers to gauge interest. I will eat a bug if Skyrim lands on it.

A roach? Or just like a gnat or something? I’ll go to pretty extreme lengths to make someone eat a roach, but I’m pretty sure we all eat a gnat here and there.

@4, Would you still eat one if it arrives on there from a streaming service from the likes of say, Onlive? I mean, Assassins Creed, Batman, L.A. Noire are already available on Android tablets & iPads.

@1, from that list only a handful don’t have a title that couldn’t run on a Tegra 3, namely Skyrim, Battlefield, Mass Effect and possibly CoD, the rest would either run easily or there exist smartphone games already that could be ported.

Too right, Battletoads! That’s not just any list either. It’s a top 20 compiled from the enormous amount of requests for games that they received.

Behold the latest DOA hardware.
One of the most non-sensical hardware ever built.

Well that list is pretty lame, even if all those tittles arrive, they are found on the other consoles and PC, i prefer if they go with PC forgoteen games like grim fandango, marathon, diablo I and II, etc, that would pick my interest in order to buy one, now thanks but not thanks is not for me, i prefer games they are not available on consoles.
