The Elder Scrolls Online screens and art show a colourful world

Wednesday, 6th June 2012 00:24 GMT By Brenna Hillier

As an MMO, The Elder Scrolls Online might not have the raw beauty of Skyrim, but it’s lovely in its own way.

The Elder Scrolls Online will arrive on Mac and PC in 2013.

Raw beauty of Skyrim? I’ll admit, the background art, and pretty much everything you looked at once you got long enough away from it was amazing, but up close and personal, everything in Skyrim was pretty much as ugly as COD graphics :/ But nevertheless, i hope this MMO will be a good one :P

Need Wulf to come in here and write 8 or 9 paragraphs about how Guild Wars 2 is a crowning MMO achievement and how TESO is doing everything comparatively wrong.

On a related note, Bethesda’s gonna take a ton of crap over this. The internets are rushing to damn it as another doomed-to-fail “WoW Clone.”

Oooh… someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. So, your life is that worthless that it amounts to trying to bait me? Not biting. Just going to point out how worthless it makes you.

Anyway, I actually don’t think this looks that bad, personally. I just want them to show us more of the game itself, which I’ve been saying all along. And I think, as a sane person, that that’s a perfectly reasonable thing to ask for.

If I bother you that much, you may have issues that you need to talk over with your designated counsellor. You’d probably find the experience very therapeutic, and discover that most of your hatred toward me is actually projected self-hatred.

Don’t think that I don’t feel sorry for you, and that I don’t have any empathy though. I do.

Oh, and I just want to point out that it only looks passingly like a WoW clone. If you want to see a real WoW clone, then look no further than TOR or Rift. No, this has quite a few distinguishing elements to it.

The environments are so well designed like all games in the series. Easily the most beautiful part of the game. There is a lot of controversy on the character models looking “cartoony’ but I think they are fine. Lately I check out The Elder Scrolls Online Zone to get a good deal of information and details.
