Rumour: Sony to announce PlayStation eBook strategy at E3

Wednesday, 30th May 2012 11:46 GMT By Johnny Cullen

MCV‘s claiming that Sony will announce a brand new eBook strategy called “Storyteller” for PS3 – and maybe Vita – at E3 next week.

The new plan will contain interactive documents and books, but will also come with a focus towards children’s books. It will apparently be part of the PlayStation Store as a sub-section.

Sony declined to comment on the story.

It was rumoured last night that premium service PlayStation Plus was set to get a revamp at the Sony press conference on Monday. This new strategy could be tied into that.

Wait, books on your TV? On Vita, sure, but PS3, seriously?

If it means less clutter in my room with books, then I got nothing against Sony bringing e-books to the PS3. Though if I had to bet, it’d be more likely as something for the Vita, and if that’s the case, it’d just be another reason for me to get a Vita.

Wow, you’re a century late to the party, Sony.

Time to try and make a portable player now.
