Tin Man Games secure license to develop Fighting Fantasy's 30th Anniversary gamebook for iOS, Android

Tin Man Games, the developers of 'gamebook' adventures, have nabbed the license to put out iPhone, iPad and Android apps based on the new Fighting Fantasy gamebook from Ian Livingstone, co-creator of the series.

Livingstone, also life president of Eidos, has been working on a new book in the series, 'Blood of the Zombies.' Tin Man's deal allows them to develop interactive iOS and Android Apps of the book using their gamebook engine.

The digital version of the book will be the same as the paper counterpart in content but will also have animated page turning and selectable choices on each page, making decision-making more fluid. An adventure sheet will track your progress while 3D physics is employed to ensure that dice rolls are as realistic as possible.

Past Livingstone's new book, Tim Man will also bring a number of the classic Fighting Fantasy books to these platforms using the same technology. The first after Blood of the Zombies will be Steve Jackson's 'House of Hell', and there's some 60 titles from 30 years for the company to work with for future releases.

"I’m really pleased to be working with Tin Man Games on the digital version as they are acknowledged experts with a proven track record," Livingstone said. "But I’m not sure how the readers will cope when they find out they can’t cheat!"

The digital gamebook will launch alongside the printed book in August 2012, and will be available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
