Crysis 3: “The hunted becomes the hunter,” says Crytek
Players will trade places from being the hunted in Crysis 2 to being the one hunting down foes this time round in Crysis 3, Crytek creative development director Rasmus Højengaard has told VG247.

Højengaard said the new jungle aspect would open up more options to using stealth in the game this time round.
“One theme that we have going across the whole game is the hunted becomes the hunter,” he told Sam Clay, speaking at EA’s European Showcase last week in London.
“And all this is set in this urban rainforest literally, which means that giving the protagonist, who’s the hunter, a bow. It’s kind of an obvious thing and it fits really well and it’s just cool.
“Also, on top of that, if you add the new feature of being able to fire the weapon while you’re cloaked, which really branches out the potential of using stealth in the game as well.”

Crysis 3 launches next spring for PS3, 360 and PC.

Crysis Hunger Games much? There’s not really any difference in videogames between being the hunter or being hunted. At least I don’t see any.

I never felt hunted in Crysis 2 due to all the sneaking around cloaked and knifing people in the back. Not really “hunted” gameplay.
Also, you could fire silenced pistols while cloaked in Crysis 2.

@1 Crysis 1 had that feel being hunter when you attack and then feel like hunted when they discover you and you are without suit energy
”being able to fire the weapon while you’re cloaked”
I HOPE he meant that for BOW ?

Milking material at best.
I’m not sure that i can be interested with this game, even if they will support Direct X11 at launch with all the features.
I dunno, this all sound like they are milking the franchise. Crysis 3 looks like a DLC for Crysis 2 to be honest.
Bow… wow… Cool. meh…

“The hunted becomes the hunter,” says Crytek
So…. Only Crytek gets to use the most tired and old cliches? If anyone else did it, they’d probably say it’s everything that’s wrong with the games industry these days.
I didn’t hate Crysis 2, it was better than I expected, but at least for me, they ruined their reputation by being humongous assholes in the lead-up to it. And then their total inability to provide a multiplayer account system that worked.
Kinda like the BF3 PR. Do people respond well to cuntitude like that?

Being hunted implies vulnerability, being at a disadvantage to your enemies and being on the run. In Crysis 2 you played as a guy who wore a suit which made him pretty much ‘all powerful’ against vastly inferior enemies who were as dumb as bricks.
Your game having a hunting bow as a weapon doesnt justify pretending the gameplay of your last game was totally different to what it really was just so you can use that ancient over used trope.
Seems like Crytek learned nothing from their BS Crysis 2 hype backfire.

Seems like PC gamers would rather Crytek just rereleased Crysis 1.
Tell you what, if you care that much about graphics, and that little about gameplay, download the fucking CE3 sandbox and go mad.

Hunter becomes hunted in the jungle? Are there dreadlocked aliens in the game, too?
If someone says, “If it bleeds, we can kill it” in the game, someone’s suing.
