Wayforward has announced it’s working with Majesco on a Double Dragon update for PSN and Xbox Live titled Double Dragon: Neon. The 80s style reboot is scheduled for a July release. According to IGN, the game stars the Billy and Jimmy Lee who are fighting many a brute in order to rescue Marian from the clutches of the evil villain Skullmageddon. The gameplay consists of the original’s classic, 2D side-scrolling action with a bit of an “80s flair.” Sounds fun. Hit up the link for more information.

I remember wanting to play this series on the SNES, but in that time i was a teenager, therefore my income was not that great, it was a call between a double dragon game and mortal kombat, and mortal kombat won so i let this game pass me by, good news hearing that i will have the chance to settle the score after all this years.

I really want this to be great but so far, the game looks like that HD “remake” of Turtles in Time for XBLA and we know how that turned out…
