Rumour - Zynga CEO answers letters from top spenders

Sources claim Zynga values its "whales" - big microtransaction spenders - so highly that CEO Mark Pincus interacts with them directly.

"Insider sources" told BusinessInsider that Zynga "treats its best customers with the best care".

The casual publisher reportedly sends its top spenders special gifts and letters, and that Pincus answers their email queries personally.

The sources said that this kind of VIP treatment is standard practice amongst social games portals which rely on optional microtransactions.

Only 2.4% of Zynga's users ever cough up funds for the privilege of playing its games, but some of those who do drop thousands of dollars at a time. Analysts and industry figures have nicknamed these big spenders "whales".
