Pokemon Black and White 2 hitting DS this June in Japan

Game Freak’s announced on Japanese TV tonight sequels for Pokemon Black and White will launch in Japan this June for DS.

Not much was given away besides the platform, release date and the fact they’re sequels in what seems to be a first in the main core series.

Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda teased the names of the first two Pokemon would be announced next week, but did show off images of the two in question.

The franchise’s US website has been updated to reflect the announcement, but no further details were given.

The fact the main Pokemon series is getting sequels is a surprise, but missing 3DS is a bigger shock: it was honestly expected the next big Pokemon title would hit the 3D handheld, albeit as Pokemon Grey.

Thanks, Andriasang.

Shockingly disappointing. I guess Nintendo were right claiming there won’t be a grey special version but instead 2 special editions for the same games? Really? -_-
