Persona 4 Arena coming to consoles in northern summer

Atlus has made good on its tease; the Persona fighter is on the way.

Persona 4 Arena will release in the US during northern summer, on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The announcement comes via Atlus USA, so the possibility of a European release has not been raised.

The console release features new, exclusive story and online modes not found in the arcade version.

Arena is set immediately after the events of Persona 4, and concerns a televised fighting tournament with the power to "pull in its stars against their wills" - the stars being familiar characters and their Personas.

The 2D fighter was developed by Arc System Works, the team behind Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, and is known by its Japanese title of The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena.
