It cant possibly be as bland or as tedious to play as modnation racers.

If modnation had never been released or existed, i see the point in this game, but this wasnt the case at all, i dont understand this, if it was very different from Modnations like segas kart racing, i would agree also, but is the same premise i mean the share,create aspect.

Ugh. How original.

This was one of the obvious directions of the LBP franchise *if* MNR didn’t exist. However agree with Gadzooks! MNR had a great creation engine but it was pretty bland, souless and load times killed it. LBP will certainly add character, it could add a lot more beside that too. Think of using LBP-like create tools to build obstacles, and race course elements. Could really open it up well beyond what was possible with MNR.

Dunno who is reporting but Future Shop is a Canadian Store. It even say’s on the twitter page that you guys keep using as a link. Best Buys owns Future Shop but Future Shop only operates out of Canada.

I believe the thing is LBP is a more viable franchise, not to mention with LBP as a franchise they’ve already negotiated licenses with several companies such as Marvel-Disney, Konami, Square Enix so on and so forth.

This makes it easier for them to give out new branded content for any future LBP titles. The thing with ModNation is that it’s mostly been problematic with the start with load times and what not. It’s a good idea and a decent franchise but they must be aware that the PS3 and PSP titles didn’t really help and the Vita might be where it’s heading for the final title.

Honestly LBP as a brand is much more viable than MNR and MNR also doesn’t have a lot of non-sony licensed content (since they probably don’t want to pay for it twice). So we’re most likely going to see an LBP kart racer with MNR features that will probably be overseen by MM just like LBP Vita. Not to mention we are aware that United Front (the ones who developed MNR) are currently working on a PS3 title (Believe some listing showed it was racing too). So they’ll probably have another go at it with a more established franchise.

Modnation really should have been LBP-branded from the start. I am normally against altering an original game just for use of a more recognizable brand but this just makes sense in the same way Mario Kart & Crash Team Racing made sense.

I for one thought ModNation Racers was appalling. I hated the handling and the load times had me seething. Hopefully LBP Karting will be what MN:R should have been: a fun game to dip in and out of, but plenty for the hardcore to get involved in.
