Soul Calibur V trailer hypes for launch tomorrow

Although it quickly switches to highly dramatic in-game assets, this new Soul Calibur V trailer begins with a bit of cosplay.

Call of Duty reckons there’s a soldier in all of us, but Soul Calibur V takes the much more believable line that we all secretly want to dress ostentatiously and hit each other with weapons. Not a euphemism. I think.

The anticipated fighter is expected on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 31 in the US and February 3 in Europe, and features Assassin’s Creed’s Ezio Auditore as a guest character.

Thanks, EvilAvatar.

I’m surprised there are no retailer-exclusive pre-order bonuses for this bad boy.

@5 Good. The last thing games need are even more frivilous “extras” that’s shut off to other paying customers, until they’re released a few weeks later as paid DLC. Especially in this genre.

The paid DLC is already out.

Before the game. Its some hats and some music or something, much like it was with 4.

@3 Yeah, the DLC is pretty pitiful. Its a handful of customizations and music and that’s about it.
