City Interactive announces Stuart Black-designed Enemy Front

Friday, 18th November 2011 13:51 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

City Interactive has announced Enemy Front, a FPS currently in works with ex-Codemasters developer Stuart Black as lead designer.

Taking place during World War II, the first-person action-shooter tells the tale of a soldier dropped behind enemy lines who must engage in and complete “dynamic, diversified missions ranging from quick skirmishes, espionage assignments, and sabotage activities.”

The game’s story spans several years, and includes key moments in history such as a quest in Wolf’s Lair and the actions surrounding the deciphering of the Enigma code. Historical battles will be fought as well from France to Berlin, eventually leading to a secret weapons base where a “terrifying weapon that will all but assure a global Nazi victory” must be destroyed.

Enemy Front is being developed with CryEngine 3 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and will be released sometime next year.

“Taking place during World War II, the first-person action-shooter tells the tale of a solider…” bold —> soldier.

A single typo to correct left unnoticed.

On the other hand, the game looks quite promising – I hope main target is realism, not some arcadish WW2 fun like new Brother in Arms will be. That would be ridiculous and not worth of big attention.

@2: Did you even look at the screenshots? No way in hell they are going the realism route. Looks cartoonish.

And then he’ll leave halfway through and the game will be a disaster.

Those aren’t screenshots – they’re very, very bad visual targets.

And yes, this sounds as derivative and dull as dishwater.

Indeed, should we have a spread bet on which month of development he’ll leave?

well body count was the lady gaga inspired game according to Black. So what’s this going to be – inspired by a reality show like x-factor and then left to rot.

Stupid how Stuart made one good game and from that whenever a game gets announced and his name is stamped on it it gets a little hype…WHY?

Wasn’t Sniper: Ghost Warrior from this publisher? It was mediocre game but a rather good looking one. The shots for this title look rather bad (The artistic design feels weird in a bad way IMO).
