PSA: Update for Xbox.com is live

Friday, 11th November 2011 14:12 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

That was fast wasn’t it? Just Wednesday, Microsoft announced it would be updating Xbox.com with some feature changes in “the coming days.” Well, today is the day, and if you head on over you will see the changes have gone into effect. You can now set Beacons, the My Xbox section has been replaced with more streamlined Social section, Friend Activity is more organized and right there on your Home page – it’s all very snazzy, really. Something else – you can now cancel your Xbox Live subscription online instead of doing it over the phone. Hooray for ease and all that.

Beacons are especially cool. They allow you to know when people start playing a game of your choice and what games your friends have played recently as well. It’s unobtrusive enough that it never becomes spammy.

Is the movies on demand available Mic?
If so is it a good selection.

@2 The apps aren’t launching until the dash officially goes live.

These are features that can be done on the Xbox site though. They don’t require the new dashboard. I can’t technically speak about it. =P

I didn’t accept my beta invite for the new dashboard. But I am really liking the new layout when I sign into Xbox Live on the net. Less clutter, and easier to navigate.

Seems much faster too. It was always such a painfully slow site.
