The God of War: Origins Collection is out today in the US, and Sony has released the launch trailer for it, which we have posted below.

In case you have been living in a cave someplace, or anywhere else without contact to the outside world, the package includes Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, both running at 1080p with 3D support. It includes Trophies, Dolby surround sound, DualShock 3 with rumble support, and will run you $39.99.

Enjoy the launch trailer.

Do you think this should look superior than the first GOW HD collection?

Just trying to get an idea as to which games are visually superior in the remastered HD format (1080p, 60fps)…..the two PS2 games (GOW collection #1) or the two PSP games (this collection).

Love the series to death, just curious before playing this new one.

@1 THey have a demo of it.

It doesn’t look that much superior to the PS2 if anything I would say it looks about the same or slightly less.

It’s more or less on par. Have a look at the demo before dropping any money if you’re concerned.

As a side note, I think the controls are interesting in this version: dodging is accomplished by either the right stick alone (the PS2/PS3 input), or with the left stick while holding both triggers (the PSP input). The result is a mix of both control schemes that is familiar to players of both the PSP and PS2/3 games. At the same time, I got the impression from the demo that the upscaled version keeps the PSP’s relaxed timing for guard countering, etc. I hope the game keeps its difficulty.
