Crysis for consoles to be downloadable, priced at 1600 MSP/£15

Following the initial announcement this morning, EA UK’s announced this afternoon that Crysis 1 on PS3 and 360 will be a downloadable release only for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

The game will be priced at 1600 MS points for XBLA and £14.99 on PSN, with full 3D support, optimized Nanosuit controls and fine-tuned combat all supported with the inclusion of CryEngine 3.

“We are extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish with Crysis. We set out to create a next-generation FPS and delivered a PC experience that became a benchmark for quality – and still is for many gamers even four years later,” said Crytek boss Cevat Yerli.

“By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming.”

The original Crysis launched in 2007 for PC. The console version releases October 4.

Wow! That is a great price. Kudos to Crytek for not putting it up at premium price. I still won’t be getting it though, I have the PC version after all.

Might get it, but the first was little more than a tech demo.
A very good tech demo, but still a tech demo.

@1 Crysis are always about sandbox experience and MP even in Crysis 2 was medicore
@4 Wrong again.Is Just Cause,Saint Row… tech demo ? I don’t think so.

Wow. Not only is that a great price, and a great format choice (no disc), to be able to play such a great game on consoles, but what an achievement milestone for downloadable titles via PSN/XBLA, yes?
