Resistance: Burning Skies screens from gamescom
Sony announced the subtitle for its Resistance game on Vita and it’s called Burning Skies. The game takes place during the Chimera invasion of the US seen in Resistance 2, and a new cover system in the game is automated and it doesn’t lock to the player. While you’re in cover, you can throw grenades using the touch screen. A brand new weapon called the Chimera chain-gun was also demoed, along showing the with the Chimera trying to burrow into a US lab. Players will fill the shoes of Tom, a fireman, who uses his fireaxe via the touch-screen to chop up Chimera. It’s coming to you from Nihilistic Software. Check out the screens below.

Meh… whatever really.
Demo was rushed. frames per second were below average, bodies just exploded…

@1, Don’t tell me that you were expecting Battlefield 3 quality graphics on such a small device? It looks comparable to early X360 games, some parts look better because the simple fact that it’s newer & technology has evolved but it’s impressive nevertheless.

You should know by now, Erth never even looks at anything that’s less than 1920×1080 4xAA 60fps. Sure anything less and it actually impacts on the enjoyment of the experience, right?
Like has anyone ever played Ocarina of Time or Ico? 320×240, <25fps. Man I had to turn that shit off cos my eyes started bleeding.
On topic, I'm a little concerned about how easy it'll be to use the twin sticks and the shoulder buttons at the same time… We'll see!

@CJ,
i didn’t said anything about visuals, i just said about rushed demo and frames per second that was below average while shooting. Thats a very bad for the handheld, especially when battery life for this device is not impressive.
Graphics? Well, nothing special except for static destruction by CPU… but whatever really. Gameplay is a total suckage (except for the touch screen moment where you can choose targets with your finger).
but whatever really, because Uncharted:GA that was built on the first gen engine looks more impressive visually and gameplay is also better.
@3, please stop your school drama. No need for the exaggeration because i like Ps vita.
Also, i played Ocarina of time on my PC by emulator btw. So much fun.

1. How in the world did you know what FPS it is running at. You were watching a video that is recorded and compressed by a camera, sent to a PC, further compressed, streamed over thousands of miles to a flash player on your PC which probably doesnt have that fast of a connection. If you were there and played the demo that was present at gamescom then i would be inclined to believe you.
2. “bodies just exploded” as apposed to bodies melting, freezing, burning, collapsing on the floor? Get hit in real life by a 50 caliber round and see if you don’t explode. Plus it is a game, who doesn’t love exploding aliens?
3. You cannot judge a games texture, fps, poly count etc by watching a gameplay. you have to see it first hand.
4. Wanna blow up buildings go play Battlefield 3. Even COD does not have full on destructible buildings.

No, seriously valid argument.
Some dumb gamers on here can see gameplay from a game in dev and asume that’s the game at launch, finalised. Idiots.
