Ubisoft has released a new Driver: San Francisco developer video which explains the game’s shift mode, which gives players the ability to switch between cars. Then, there’s another video posted below, courtesy of GameFront, which shows how shift can be used in multiplayer. Driver is out September 1 in Europe, September 2 in the UK, and September 6 in the US.

I might have been interested in a new Driver but this feature put me right off.

I’ll wait for reviews but the VVV Auto YouTube videos haven’t sold me on the concept at all.

What?! You can change your car DURING a gameplay?! That’s it for me. I’m officially off… and by the look & feel of the gameplay and modes, I will stay with my nice Burnout Paradise.

Yeh he’s in a ‘coma’ lying in a hospital bed. The game is a series of flashbacks where you can float between cars. Ugghhhh.

I think that the series has already peaked with Div3r. And that wasn’t even a very big peak. Still a blast to screw around in though. I’ll never forget diving down the street in a big truck just smashing everything out the way… I don’t think I ever got close to completing it though.
