That announcement from Hideo Kojima that was promised last night? It’s not a game, but it’s not an empty-handed announcement either: the formal announcement of Project S, a radio play of Snatcher, with the involvement of Grasshopper’s Suda 51 and Akira Yamaoka.

Called Sdatcher, Kojima announced the news on the new Hideradio last night, according to Famitsu. No details on the story and cast were announced, but it was confirmed that Suda was involved with the script, while Yamaoka worked on the music.

Kojima himself is the planner, overall director and creator of the source material. The said material being Snatcher.

The play will air as part of Hideradio’s 300th episode. The meter’s stopped at 296 as yet.

Project S was first announced at a Grasshopper event in 2007.

Thanks, Andriasang.

I love Snatcher. When I read “radio play,” I pictured Orson Welles performing “War of the Worlds.”. Undoubtedly this will be good, I’m disappointed it isn’t a proper game remake. Hope to see an iOS port of the original at some point in the future.

This is very disappointing. Why is this NOT a game?

@1 and 2. I definitely agree. A modern Snatcher game with lots of extras, secrets, revolutionary drama gameplay would have been just perfect.
