Monday shorts, part two: Kazunori Yamauchi, Jamie Kennedy, Michael Pachter, more

Monday, 27th June 2011 14:58 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Question. What does Kazunori Yamauchi, horrible comedian Jamie Kennedy and industry analyst Michael Pachter have in common? Answer after the break in this short edition of Monday Shorts.

Answer: nothing-ish in regards to Yamauchi anyway. Everything’s up for grabs with Pachter and Kennedy, though

  • The two of them were caught up in a Twitter war recently alongside ex games journo Gary Whitta and Game Informer boss Andy McNamara after talking about Kennedy’s “sensational” E3 2007 host appearance at Activision compared to Mr Caffeine at Ubisoft this year.
  • Speaking of Pachter, he reckons it wouldn’t hurt Bethesda to slip Skyrim into February 2012, and that THQ could delay Saints Row: The Third to give it more polish.
  • Meanwhile, Gran Turismo boss Yamauchi finished first in his class at the Nurburgring 24-hour race.
  • Mincraft’s become an FPS of sorts, don’tchaknow.
  • Nintendo’s opened up an online show where you can buy accessories and game manuals from them. Yes, game manuals.

The most incredible thing about Mr Caffeine was that he appeared to be donning a wedding ring.

Jesus Christ his wife must put up with some shit :)

I totally agree with you. I thought they honestly had the best showing at E3 this year, even if Mr. Caffeine’s jokes were kinda lame.

@3 yeah I enjoyed Microsoft and EA’s a bit more than Ubisoft (FarCry 3 looked awesome though, as did GRFS and Revelations)…all three were much better then the borefest Sony put on and I didn’t even bother watching Nintendo’s…

But Pachter is crazy man…Bethesda is not going to give up that awesome 11/11/11 release date…Saints Row on the other hand could benefit from some polish and prob a less crowded sales market since Halo Anniversary and AC: Revelations are scheduled to come out the same day as SR3…and Skyrim and CoD the week before…
