Atlus: The Cursed Crusade is "just a brawler"

Atlus is so well-known for backing kooky RPGs and fringe genres that when it publishes a bog-standard core title, that's news.

Siliconera got hands-on with The Cursed Crusade at E3, and was surprised by Atlus' Scott Strichart's insistence the game is "just a brawler".

"Kind of a departure for us, actually," Strichart commented, repeatedly denying RPG-lite features.

The Cursed Crusade is in development at Kylotonn Games, probably best known for Iron Storm and Speedball 2.

It sports co-op multiplayer, along with brutal swordplay.

Expect it on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 around the end of July.
