Play as Catwoman in Batman: Arkham City

Gamespot's carrying an updated preview of Batman: Arkham City, which confirms Catwoman  as a playable character in the game.

Confirmation came from Rocksteady's Dax Ginn, who also explained in the interview why the team chose to make everyone's favorite vixen playable.

“With Catwoman we get a brilliant character who will allow gamers to indulge in a darker side," he said. "With Catwoman, you can take a walk on the wild side and take a break from being the defender of Gotham.”

Catwoman features her own combat system, gadgetry, and navigational techniques.  Players will also be able to level-up her armor and abilities, just like with Batman.

You can catch the new interview over at Gamespot and watch the video with Catwoman below.

Arkham City releases on October 18 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
