Silicon Knights: We “intend to finish” the Too Human trilogy

Tuesday, 3rd May 2011 02:46 GMT By Nathan Grayson

Looks like Two Human, Too Furious isn’t six-feet under after all.

“We intend to finish the trilogy but no comment beyond that… You know, there’s very public litigation around that,” Silicon Knights president Denis Dyack told IndustryGamers.

“Very public,” however, is probably selling it short. The Silicon Knights-Epic court drama was one for the ages long before it even got clearance to go before the judge in the first place.

For now, however, SK is busy digging its claws into X-Men Destiny – though details are relatively scant so far.

Here’s hoping the next Too Human benefits from the extra ARPG experience, as you might remember that the first one came up a bit short in the, er, goodness department.

Good luck finding a publisher that will waste their money on you Dyack. Its too bad too I really enjoyed your games prior to Too Human.

Yeh this is quite dissapointing, I would rather see something new or a spirtual successor to Eternal Darkness. They should really cut their losses with the whole Too Human carry on.

Yes its that bad think Mass Effect the original with all the classes. Ok you got it? Now remove all the RPG elements except the stats… simplify the stats. Add in clunky Dungeon crawler combat. Now make a 5 hourish story.

You seem to think RPG = stats when it does not RPG stands for ROLE PLAYING GAME min and maxing your character is not an RPG. SO yes Mass Effect had RPG elements like being able to pick your character class and disposition that is the point of role playing.

“You seem to think RPG = stats ”

    Where did i said that?

“Mass Effect had RPG like being able to pick your character class and disposition that is the point of role playing.”

Thats just a small element of RPG. Super small.

THats weird because most of the industry disagrees look at CD Projekt its claimed to be a RPG but the talent ystem is simplified allows only so much customization, the character is predetermined.

    Same with most RPGs

“A role-playing game (RPG) is a game in which players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting. Players take responsibility for acting out these roles within a narrative, either through literal acting, or through a process of structured decision-making or character development. Actions taken within the game succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines.”

You play the role of your character “sheperd” check
You take responsitility for decisio: check
Actions succeed or fail to a system of rules and guidelines : check

Hmm according to DND definition of RPG that fits Mass Effect.

So please explain to where ME is not an rpg or doesn’t have Mass Effect elements.

Witcher 2 has the same amount of RPG elements as well its just as streamlined as the series. Oh but instead of using TPS elements you use Third person clicking, oh thats what makes a RPG its the clicking at the right time like God of Wars QTE.

    Good luck with that, Denis!

Too Human is one of those rare games where I got bored before the end of the demo.
