Pokémon Black & White shifts over 1 million on first day
Nintendo of America has announced the combined US sales of Pokémon Black and White reached over one million on its first day at retail.

Nintendo says internal sales data shows 1.08 million copies were snatched up when both versions of the latest generation launched on March 6.
The company pointed out that despite its impending succession by the 3DS, the DS has an install base of 47 million which is still well worth tapping.
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, the previous record holder, only managed 780,000 day one sales in 2007.
Black and White launched in September in Japan, and managed 2.5 million units over its first week. It dominated this week’s UK charts.
Thanks, IGN.

Well deserved. Best title in the series since Gold and Silver.

Best pokemon game I’ve played in years that wasn’t a remake. Hats off to Nintendo and GameFreak for this one.
