Quick Shots: Tomb Raider Trilogy HD compared with PS2 originals
Crystal Dynamics has released a number of comparison shots showing the startling upgrade in graphics for the PlayStation 3′s Tomb Raider Trilogy Pack.
Ripten had the shots, which show the PS3 versions alongside the PS2 originals.
Although the final entry in the trilogy, Tomb Raider: Underworld was developed for PS3, both Legend and Anniversary (a remake of the original Tomb Raider) were confined to the PS2 for Sony fans. All three are available on Xbox 360.
The Tomb Raider Trilogy pack will release under the PS3′s HD Classic label on March 25.

Wow ya, looks great! It would be interesting to see another article showing the comparison between PS3 HD remakes and PC. Thanks Brenna!

@1 Whilst the shots are pretty small both Anniversary and Legend appear to be using the best assets and effects of their respective PC versions.
So long as performance is up to snuff they should be good ports.

That guy’s face certainly looks scarier in HD!
Rather than comparing the PC version, I think it’d have been more useful to also include shots from the 360 versions, given that they were native to the platform and not just HD-rejigs. I still find it surprising that they upscaled the PS2 versions rather than porting the 360 games.

Are we sure? Maybe they’ll release it a second time for 360 and say the PS3 version is coming eventually?
Fucking Ubisoft.

So would it be better to get PS3 HD Trilogy or just get them on PC?

Looks great.
Now, can we see 360/PS3 shot comparisons?

Yeh 360 vs ps3 comparison would be much better, I have these games for PC anyway but I might pick this up for the trophies. Shame about the Underworld DLC
Oh yeh and I love the story in these games, looking forward to this incoming reboot

In theory these ports should look better than their respective 360 versions: they’re ostensibly running with the same graphics detail, so if they really are rendering at proper 720p — none of the games do on 360 — and retain a decent, tear-free framerate they should be the definitive console versions.
That said it’s best to wait on reality. The shots in the article aren’t much to go on, especially in regards to performance.
