A new survey from Microsoft’s advertising arm has concluded that Xbox 360 owners in the UK spend, on average, £64 a month on games.

The survey, which polled 251 people between the ages of 25 and 34, also found that 13 percent of users spend over £100.

It was also found that 83 percent play games on their Xbox 360 three to four days a week while 41 percent play games every day for three or four hours at a time. Around seven different titles on average are played each month by users as well.

“Compared against the average male, gamers represent an attractive proposition for marketers,” Microsoft Advertising’s head of research for data and analytics Julie Forey told MCV.

“Earning a higher wage, being advocates of premium goods and over half playing for more than three hours each day, this provides firms with a profile from which they can base their message.”

Most of those polled claimed to have hardcore gaming habits with shooters, racing and RPG genres preferred, respectively.

One third of Xbox Live users also play casual games or MMOs, and over a third play gambling titles.
