Gabe Newell reveals Steam ID and password to show how Steam Guard works
In an effort to prove just how secure Steam Guard is, Valve head Gabe Newell revealed his Steam ID and password to the crowd during the firm’s presentation at GDC.
Watch for yourself in the video below.
The new Steam Guard feature, currently in beta, “gives users greatly increased account security,” and links management of user accounts to a specific PC.
Should someone attempt to modify or change a user’s account settings on another PC, it will not be possible without user approval with customers being notified should another PC than the one registered attempt to log into the account.

Not sure how this supposedly increases “security”. Lots of people have different PCs, laptops, etc. Some might not even use their original PCs as much, and many would sell them off after or before they buy a new one.

@1 as #2 said, you have complete control over which computers are “authorized”.
Also, if you sell or give away your computer who’s authorized for Steam Guard without de-authorizing it, you’re stupid. And stupidity is something Steam Guard cannot guard against (And neither can anything else).

Wouldn’t surprise me if it was a sock account set up to test the effectiveness of the system against genuine hack attempts from real life “in the wild” hackers.
Be funny if someone did hack it, clicked on the Games tab and it just said “lol, pwned”.
