Paradox announces Sengoku

Paradox Interactive is set to introduce a new grand strategy series to its illustrious stables - Sengoku. Trailer and screens through the break.

The PC-exclusive, internally developed game is set during the - you guessed it - sengoku or warring states period of Japanese history, with players taking control of one of the prominent noble families of the time.

A detailed historical recreation includes the external influence of early Dutch and Portuguese contact.

As well as commanding armies of loyal warriors, players can call on a number of ninja clans - the diplomatic option.

That's about it at this early stage, with no release date set, although you can follow the game's Twitter and Facebook.

The launch trailer is embedded below, along with a handful of alpha screens thanks to Gamespot.
