Blizzcon 2011 dated for mid-October

Activision's just announced details of this year's Blizzcon, taking place from October 21-22.

The event will once again take place at the Anaheim convention center.

"We look forward to holding another exciting BlizzCon this year, filled with some great entertainment and competition, as well as the latest news about Blizzard games," said Blizzard boss, Mike Morhaime.

"BlizzCon is built from the ground up with our community in mind -- we're pleased to be able to host an event where players can come together to have fun and celebrate their passion for gaming."

Blizzard dropped bombs all over Anaheim's ass last year, confirming the demon hunter class and PvP for Diablo III as well as showing more of WoW Cataclysm before launch.

More post-launch stuff on StarCraft II, as well as its next expansion Heart of the Swarm, was also talked about, plus a brief mention of the company's next-gen MMO.

Further details on this year's event, including ticket pricing and availability, will be announced when the event draws closer.
