Rumour: UK 3DS pricing includes 27% mark up

3ds

A retail representative is reported to have said the cost price of Nintendo's 3DS is £173, meaning the most common UK retailer price point include a mark up of £46 or more.

GamesRadar claims to have been told the cost price by a representative of "one of the major supermarket brands".

At £219, this represents a 27 percent markup - within reasonable standard for consumer electronics.

In other territories, Nintendo has been able to announce a standard RRP, but excused itself in the UK and Europe, saying retailers have the right to price as they please.

Thanks, GoNintendo.
