Mortal Kombat to get webisode series

mortalkombatrebirth

The Mortal Kombat film reboot may be dead, but it seems there is some live action hope for fans of the series thanks to director Kevin Tancharoen.

According to horror fan site Bloody Disgusting, Tancharoen will begin filming a 10-part Mortal Kombat webisode series next month, following in the same vein as the pilot which appeared last year.

There isn’t a lot of information about the project other than Jai White’s continued involvement as Jax, however it’s nice to know that someone has at least managed to salvage something from the taster.

Thanks, Joystiq.

Considering the way Hollywood has been treating video game movies, I think being dead isn’t that bad. I mean, just look at the Uncharted: The Vigilante Family movie starring Marky Mark.

That was not a preview, it was a pitch. And it landed. Based on that short movie WB is commisioning the same director to make it as a 10 part web series.
