November Unreal Development Kit beta released this week, cool trailer released

ur3

Epic Games released the November 2010 UDK beta for its Unreal Development Kit earlier this week, and today we’ve run across a video which was also released, showing what Unreal Engine 3 is capable of.

With the November update, UDK now ships with an additional map along with many improvements to the Unreal Editor, and even more additions and changes have been made.

You can get the full list here.

Those interested in the latest beta can download it here.

Watch the video below. It’s really cool.

That engine is so old and outdated that you can use it only for:

1) RPG games

2) MMO’s

because ID Tech 5 and CRYENGINE 2,3 blows it in to pieces.

Other companies just upgrade it, because it’s not that good right now. But Epic developers really make sure that the engine can show all of it’s strengths, but even they can’t build Gears Of War game without SpeedTree and other physic engines.

I’m sure they will blow us again with Unreal Engine 4 that will use multiple cores and i can’t wait to see that.

Holy shit. That looks fuckin amazing. Did you even WATCH the video Erthazuz? My Lord that looks good. Can you imagine if Uncharted 3, or the next Oblivion looked just like this? Hell, ANY game that looked just like this would be phenomonal.

*EDIT* After watching it again, i’m wondering is this a playable/real-time enviornment or is this more like CG? I don’t know tech details about gaming. If it’s only the latter, then sorry #1, i’m not as impressed.

I just want to get lost in a world like that…

Ok question?! How did EPIC get their hands on Uncharted 3 alpha code ;) I thought they had good security at Naughty Dog Studios. :D

@above above I don’t use UDK, but if their samples are included in the form of executables, why not? (unless you don’t meet the system requirements)

@1 exactly!
yet UE3 is the most used and common engine now in the market!
also cheaper:/ yet some developers shock us with the stuff they can put out with UE3.

I’m still farking surprised that Rock Ready is a UK developer and they showcased how POWERFUL the UE3 is O_O

Yea that is how looks without Controling camera,no AI and no Scripts…Just look Cryengine 3 video then play some Crysis 2 videos….But worst thing about UE3 engine is fire.It is just ugly.
@9 Did you mean Rock Steady guys from Batman:AA ?

@Dr. ghettoblaster,
“Holy shit. That looks fuckin amazing. Did you even WATCH the video Erthazuz? My Lord that looks good. Can you imagine if Uncharted 3″

It’s not that beautiful as you think in reality. It’s just a showcase.

Have you ever seen Cryengine 3 demo or ID Tech 5? They will blow UE 3.5 to pieces.
Nothing amazing really in 3.5.

Just look at Gears 3. Does this game look better than Uncharted 2, Crysis, RAGE, God Of war 3? Nope.

Gears even use few other physic engines, don’t be fooled by the engine.

That just looks gorgeous.

But as always, good art direction, game mechanics and clever level design are far more important than what engine is used.
