David Perry's confirmed that Cloud gaming service Gaikai has now entered open beta, with an initial round of 11,000 invites having been already sent out.

Speaking on his blog, Perry said the response to the first 1,000 invites had been postive and immediate.

"Suddenly we were officially 'Open Beta,' people were playing within minutes and leaving nice messages in our survey system."

Perry's company responded by releasing a further 10,000 invites.

No massive shocks on what people are playing instinctively.

"The game everyone is playing first is Mass Effect 2, it's the highest rated PC game in the last 12 months and Bioware simply rocks," said Perry.

"They've been very supportive as has Electronic Arts. The good news for them is we are getting a surprising amount of people clicking 'BUY' without even making them a special offer."

Gaikai allows players to access games remotely through a browser, with no need for any downloading.
