Dance Central recalled, new copies will make launch next week

dance central gc

MTV Games has recalled copies of Kinect’s Dance Central, which were sitting in the back of stores waiting for launch day.

Apparently, the issue was due to “a misprint in the owner’s manual”, and new copies will be out in time for the game’s launch alongside Kinect on November 4 in the US.

No word on whether there were similar issues with the European version or not.

Kinect launches in Europe on November 10.

Thanks, Joystiq.

“But who´s reading the manuals anyway?”

Normally, no-one. But these are casual games, I’d wager the manuals are being read cover to cover. :D

Thought it might be due to the publisher being embarrassed about it.

I’ve heard from a TRUSTED source that the ‘misprint’ in the manual was that instead of printing the Dance Central manual they printed and shipped the Qur’an

EMBARRASSING!

(PS. who is publishing DC?)

MTV Games is co-publisher of the title with EA, and basically is the parent company of Harmonix.

microsoft games studio is listed as the distributer and the credits page on the official site lists microsoft publishing.

Are you sure EA is publishing?

I would have thought they’d get it to more than the one device/console if they were.

A Google search tells me either MTV or Microsoft are publishing.

the wiki says mtv games is the publisher and microsoft game studio is the distributer. so keep the “co” subtract the ea, add the microsoft and you got your answer. unless ea has publishing/distribution rights in other regions? no mention of it as far as i can tell and no ea logo on dc box or site or mention of the game on ea website.

@14 no I got Dance Central confused with Rock Band so there’s no conspiracy or anything. Too much information floating around in my head is all along with categorizing anything Harnomix related with EA all the bloody time. EA is not involved this time around. Forget it was even mentioned in my comment earlier. I will punish myself later.
