THQ wants to sell Red Faction: Battlegrounds on the cheap

Sunday, 22nd August 2010 08:38 GMT By Joe Anderson

THQ has said it may give away Red Faction: Battlegrounds as a free pre-order bonus for Red Faction: Armageddon, and failing that it’ll be released for the lowest possible price.

Speaking to Joystiq during gamescom, a rep said:

“We have no price yet. They are talking about possible pre-order specials. It’s possible, hasn’t been finalized yet, that if you pre-order Armageddon you may be able to toss this in as well. They obviously want to keep it as low as possible.”

If the game isn’t given away free, the rep said THQ hopes to sell it for 400-800 Microsoft Points ($5-10).

Finally, the spokesperson mentioned DLC planned for the game, saying there are, “two downloadable packs, one ties into the [Red Faction: Origins] mini-series … it also has a Armageddon DLC pack.”

Red Faction Battlegrounds is due to release in 2011 for PSN and XBLA.

I love THQ, but i’m not sure where they are heading with these mini-games based on their popular franchises like this & Saints Row (which i expect to be something like GTA: China Town Wars, but with more Pimps & Gangstas).
But Damn you THQ, you’re going to bankrupt me with all your upcoming games like Saints Row 3, Red Faction Armageddon, Dawn of War 2: Retribution, Space Marine, Dark Millenium(i hate subs, so i may give this a miss) & lastly Smackdown vs Raw 2011 (yes i know WWE is fake, which is why it’s classified as Entertainment, not sports, but i still love watching it & playing their games, there’s just something about beating someone up[even if it's not real]

I’ll prob get this if it is 400-800 msp, I’ll prob end up buying most of THQ’s digital titles that are coming out like this, Costume Quest, whatever the saints row one is and also the 3rd person adventure game from Double Fine

Recently i finished Darksiders, what a great game. Yes it uses alot of stuff from wellknown other games but it works perfectly.
Darksiders 2 is planned for 2012, oh my…a long wait.
