Enslaved DLC will be a "side adventure", says Ninja Theory

Ninja Theory boss Tameem Antoniades has told VG247 the DLC planned for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West will take place outside of the game's main story.

Speaking with Joe Anderson at Develop, Antoniades said this was intentional on the developers part, so as not to interfere with the game's story.

"It will be a side adventure. We want to be very clear that the story has a beginning, middle and end, so you don't need to get the DLC to fill in the gaps," said Antoniades.

"It's a totally separate side story, and totally separate from the main production of the game".

Antoniades reiterated what he told VG247 back in May, stating the DLC would be story-based, and not be a multiplayer experience, and should the DLC prove to be successful - the firm plans to offer more of it in the future.

"We don't have a plan as such yet, but if it does work - I don't know much about the dynamics of the DLC business - but if it does work I will be keen to do more," said Antoniades.

Antoniades told us a demo will be released for the game since it's "a new IP" and "doesn't have a pedigree", which makes him "keen" for people to "get a hands on".

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West releases October 5 and 8 in the US and Europe, respectively for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Our full interview with Tameem Antoniades will be made available tomorrow.
