Metro 2034 not out for “a couple of years,” might be on PS3

THQ’s VP of core games, Danny Bilson, has told IG that Metro 2034 won’t be released any time soon.

Instead, the game, which has already been confirmed to be 3D-enabled, won’t be released for another “couple of years” yet.

Dmitry Glukhovsky, author of the books that spawned the games, has said on his blog (via EG), that the the second game may come to PS3.

When it was released in March of this year, Metro 2033 skipped PS3 and launched on PC and 360.

According to Glukhovsky, while it only took 19 days to port Metro 2033 from PC to 360, it would have taken developer 4A Games six months to complete a PS3 port.

The sensible option was instead to focus on getting the sequel on Sony’s machine instead of porting the original Metro, according to the author.

360, 19 days, they should of taken more time to fix glitches.
I welcome metro 2034 to the ps3, i hope they take their time to port it.

edit, they need to optimist the PC V., I have a BFG GTX 285 2g video ram and it had poor frame rate:(

“GTX 285 2g video ram and it had poor frame rate:(”

Bullshit. Game is extremely polished in terms of optimise.

I have GTX 285 myself and playing on highest graphics settings without a lag.

Even 260 GTX is enough to max this game out without lag. Maybe you have bad processor or MB Ram?

The first really was broken. It could have been a great game but lacked polish. It was clearly not made for consoles. Maybe a dedicated teams will work on the console version of the game. THQ seems committed to working with its partners on creating better games.

@ Erthazus not bullshit maybe horse shit. lol, it might be my processor (intel wolfdale core2 3.0Gz) 4 DDR2 4g 1066gz. Its very choppy getting 15 to 20 fps. Only with metro, other games run super.

@5 Yeah, it’s probably processor. But Dual core is not a bad processor in any way. I don’t understand how you get 15-20 FPS.

    something is wrong here.

Metro 2033 originally began development as a PS3/PC title. Wonder what made them shift to 360.

@8 Actually not. It’s a small Ukrainian dev team. They wanted to make Ps3 version, but THQ asked them if they can do PS3 version in time, they said they don’t have time for the release date, so they made PC/360.
