New Yakuza in development for PS3, confirms series director

Yakuza series director Toshihiro Nagoshi has confirmed in this week's Famitsu that a new installment in the series is in development for PS3.

The title, in development alongside PSP title Black Panther, will be formally revealed at Tokyo Games Show in September.

Nagoshi didn't reveal the formal title for the game, nor did he mention a timeline as to when the game would be out, but did say that series regular Majima Goro would be a playable character in the game.

He also hinted at several other playable characters for the game.

The only piece of media shown in regards to the game was a piece of concept art which featured Goro pointing a machine gun as if he's about to fire it.

Sega only announced a couple of weeks ago that Yakuza 4, released in March this year in Japan, would be released in the west next year after Yakuza 3's western release earlier in the year.

Thanks, Andriasang.
