Ubi announces Michael Jackson dancing game

Tuesday, 15th June 2010 02:29 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Ubisoft has announced a Michael Jackson dancing game at its press tonight at E3.

Not much else was revealed on how Michael Jackson: The Game works, but you can use Kinect and Move with it.

People from Michael Jackson’s This is It came out on stage and danced.

“With this interactive product, we have the chance to bring Michael, the artist, into households around the world in a perfect match of Michael’s artistry and the family entertainment which he always highly valued,” said John Branca, co-executor for The Estate of Michael Jackson (via Kotaku).

“This game is a natural extension of what he would be doing today to raise his artistry to even greater heights for his fans of all generations. It is a game that the entire family can experience and enjoy together and this is something that would please Michael tremendously.”

It’s out this holiday on Wii, PSP, and DS as well.

No… They didn’t announce a game… They had people dancing, that is all.

I REFUSE to believe that was an announcement.

We don’t know what the hell it is yet – honestly. MJ, dancing, and Yves’ outrageous French accent. All win.

    …except the dancing

Honestly, if this turns out to be Moonwalker 2 or some epic dancing game, then – I’m going to say it – best E3 conference so far.

Tonight we witnessed the death of gaming. It’s all bullshit gimmicky motion controls and fitness games from now on. Blame Nintendo.

    Not cynical… sceptical.

    What is this thing?

Is it a Kinect game? Move enabled? Wii?

Does it involve vocal tracks? Instruments? Theme park building?

    WHAT IS IT?!

@10 Agreed those dancers really did suck, plus why didn’t they do Thriller or Billie Jean?! With Billie Jean they could have had one person walking on, click (A light beams down) and obviously do the classic start to Billie Jean then everyone else joins. Now that would have been awesome :D

Similar to this would have been win, maybe not begin from the very start as that obviously wouldn’t be as effective without MJ :P

@19 OMG I remember watching him do the moonwalk for the first time on TV in my room as a kid, and I could hear my Mom screaming in amazement – “Are you watching this?!?” – from across the house. It was one of those never forget moments. :D

I wasn’t too impressed with the dancing, it had zero to do with MJ. But these were a few of the dancers he was gonna have next to him during This is it.
