360-exclusive Split/Second demo releasing this week

Split/Second director Nick Baynes has revealed in the latest Major Nelson podcast that a demo for the OTT racer will hit Xbox Live some time this week.
The taster, which will be a 360-exclusive, will see players try out the airport level from the game. It’s unknown, though, when what day it’ll be launching.
This is the first a demo for the game has been confirmed for it.
“There’s a demo exclusively out on Xbox, which is out this week I believe, so everyone will be able to play the airport track very, very soon on Xbox 360,” said Baynes.
Get pumped, kids. We are.
Split/Second releases on May 21 in the UK for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Some most recent footage for it is here.

Are we really reduced to doing exclusivity deals on demos now? What next, exclusive trailers?
I’ll grab this, although I wish it was a different level – the airport’s the only one I’ve actually played!

Chances are it’ll be the build they’ve had touring variouse gaming events.
And it’s probably Xbox exclusive since that demo was on Xbox. Less of a deal, more an issue of not having the time to also make a PS3 demo.
That’s just me geusing though.

@2 Wrong. Game is going to be on Xbox 360 and PS3 and PC at MAY 21

@2 Correct.
That sounds about right, its not exclusive through deals just convenience. They already had what was effectively a demo running on the 360, so tarting it up and releasing would take no time.
@3 Reading fail.

It’ll be a QA thing. They have had time to port the X360 demo to the PS3, but testing and certifying it would have taken ages.

@1 That’s how it goes these days. 1 month DLC and demo exclusivity. Rock n Roll
